welcome to my blog
This is my more informal blog--I am also starting one that is more of a newsletter about art career news. Coming soon! Also please visit my website also, if you haven't yet. It was built by my friend Pamela Grimm--I owe her a huge debt of gratitude for all her work (and a painting too, I think!)
The photo below is of the garden I put in this spring on the steep bank just outside my studio door. In this photo, the red leaves from the sumac on the bank above have started to fall. For years it was an overgrown and weedy spot, impossible to mow and generally something I tried not to look at...and then one day I thought, this could be a beautiful place, and started digging. Friends and family gave me most of the plants and rocks, which makes them a bit more special. I especially like the fact that you can't see it from up above, not til you start down the steps, so it is kind of hidden and private. I have a chair where I can sit and draw or write.
