new painting
This is Remembering Catalunya (74"x30" oil on board) which I finsihed a few days ago, and will be delivering to Darnell Fine Art in Santa Fe later in the week. The largest panel has many layers of earth colors and accents of red, and overall the painting is quite textural. The title comes from my enduring impressions of the region in the Pyrenees where I spent the month of September--if I had to pick one word to sum them up, it would be texture--of stone, ancient walls, meadows and rugged paths. The bottom picture is a close up detail shot. ¶ 11:47 AM

I love that middle panel. There's just something very engaging about it. It feels almost like some lost artifact, like a well-used but long forgotten road map.

Love your work. I was introduced to it in Santa Fe this summer and was immediately entranced. Partly, I admit, it is because it reflects some of my own values and what is behind some of my own art. Your work is far more sophisticated and beautiful than mine, but I share your philosophy as well as some aspects of your approach.
I would add to your great list of Criteria "addressing paradox," since, to me, resolving (or at least handling) the seeming contradictions we see in nature (and certainly in human behavior) and in the elements we use in our art is often an exhilarating challenge.
I have some of my art (I have a full time career and paint only when I can) pictured on Facebook, where I can direct you if interested or send you a photo to an email address.
If you ever do teaching gigs, let me know.
