new paintings
These are examples of something new I'm doing--medium sized paintings using multiple panels. I like the intimate scale of these, along with the contrast and interaction of multiple panels. These have evolved after painting Grove (my November 29 entry.)
The top painting, Cadence, is 26"x20" and the one below, Golden Day (it evoked for me an October day spent with my younger son in the mountains above Flagstaff) is 22"x18."
I'm a bit overdue for bringing new work to my Minneapolis gallery, Circa Gallery, and I plan to remedy that on Friday. I am hauling in Grove, Cadence, a new Verticle, and Ghost, pictured below, 72"x24".

Three more beauties! I love Cadence and Golden Day. In Cadence the two black (line drawings?) in the top panel strike me as very interesting and they invite you into the painting.As I said before, it's that contrast between line and mass that adds so much interest, especially when so well executed as here. The deep glowing yellows shine even on my screen!
